Consultation Services

We offer a wide variety of consultation services, seminars, lectures, and training programs to prepare your talent to provide the highest levels of care. Our services include on-site consultation, multiple education opportunities and regulatory compliance.

State-Approved training programs for activity and social service staff offer excellent tools to prepare students for working in the healthcare industry. After successful completion of the course and final exam, our students receive their certificates on-site and are ready to launch their career. Our students enjoy the camaraderie and networking these classes offer.

The Lacy Beyl Educational Services Suite

Activity Consultation

Support and training is offered to activity professionals with attention to program development and regulatory compliance. Training includes but not limited to; understanding the regulatory components of F248, understanding section F of the RAI manual, care plan development, one-on-one system and program development.

Activity Director Course

This 90-hour State approved innovative course offers hands-on, practical application, group work and training to prepare any Activity Professional entering the field. Education includes the components of F248, documentation related to activity systems and a variety of original programming ideas. One of our most popular courses, register early!

Behavior Management

This comprehensive training aims to understand behavior symptoms, identify root causes of behavior, develop interventions and address regulatory compliance. A behavior management manual is available for purchase which includes policies and procedures, behavior tracking records, behavior summaries and related forms to assist staff in developing a facility specific program.

Continuing Education

Lacy Beyl & Company is approved by the Indiana State Department of Health Facility Administrators as a sponsor of continuing education (CEU) programs for health facility administrators (HFA). We are approved by the Indiana Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor to provide Category I CEU’s to licensed social workers (LSW) and licensed clinical social workers (LCSW).

Dementia Training

This training is offered in 12, 6 & 3 hour programs. Utilizing creative and innovative educational modules, including an introduction to dementia, behaviors, ADL care, communicating with the dementia resident, activities, and the role of families and caregivers, LBC offers a variety of tools to enhance dementia care. Training meets State guidelines for required Dementia Training.

Inservice Education

Training is provided on-site and is tailored to meet the needs of your facility. Sample topics include behavior management, dementia training, Resident Rights, specialized populations, PASSAR, abuse prevention and reporting, grievances, fall prevention, unnecessary drugs/gradual dose reductions, infection control, and more.

Interim Staffing Assistance

Staffing is available for Social Services, Activities, MDS, and DON positions.

  • Social Services: Focus on MDS documentation, care plan development, crisis intervention, behavior management, intra-facility transfers, and discharge planning.
  • Activities: Focus on MDS documentation, care plan development, calendar development, programming, and documentation of group, independent, and 1:1 activities.
  • MDS: Focus is on MDS scheduling, documentation review, MDS completion and transmission, and care plan development.
  • DON: Review regulatory systems and provide oversight and guidance to the nursing department in the interim.
MDS Consultation and Training/Case Mix Compliance

Training is provided for large or small groups, and can be customized to meet the needs of your staff. Topics for consultation include setting up the MDS system, MDS coding, resident interview content, supportive documentation, review of clinical records, RUG classification, orientation and training for the MDS Coordinator, Medicare/Medicaid requirements, and time weighted reports.

Mock Survey

Our comprehensive systems review is designed to identify potential survey risk factors and provide recommendations for continued compliance. An in-depth review of federal and state regulations and ongoing training and education is provided to staff.

Nursing Consultation

A skilled RN provides a review of facility systems including weight loss, wounds, behavior management, pain management, use of restraints, and more. Training and education are provided to enhance standards of practice and regulatory compliance.

Orientation for New Staff

A two day on-site Social Service, Activity and Nursing orientation training is available and provides guidance and training on applications of facility policy practices and state and federal regulations. For those re-entering the healthcare industry, this serves as a refresher program.

Policy & Procedure Development/Form Development

As regulations change and facilities fine-tune systems, new policies and procedures are often needed. Our skilled professionals can provide assistance in developing these policies and related forms to meet the specific needs of your facility.

Project Management

Utilize our knowledge, skills, tools and management techniques to separate business-as-usual tasks into projects. Let LBC organize, initiate and launch your short-term projects from start to finish.

QIDP Consultation

The Level II and Case Analysis are reviewed and an individualized habilitation plan is developed for those residents with intellectual disability/developmental disability as required. One-on-one visits are held with the resident and QIDP documentation completed. Training and education is provided to QIDP designees regarding compliance.

Social Service Consultation

Trained professionals provide consultation and support to staff. Focus of visits include systems review, chart reviews for residents with significant mood and behavior issues, training on new policies and regulations, and assist with implementing new programs.

Social Service Designee Course

Experienced, practicing professionals provide the 48-hour State approved course offering the most up-to-date information in the field. Education is provided focusing on the practical applications of the social worker’s role in a healthcare facility.

Survey Management

Hands-on approach to consultation and training is focused on resolving survey targeted issues while addressing the plan of correction. Assistance is provided with developing systems to support survey compliance.
